 About Me

Growing up in Jiangmen, I always wandered around my treasured childhood sanctuary,  Hui-Cheng River, where I harken to waterfowl chirps and the convivial rhythms of the waves. Such an idyllic refuge for humans and nature was devastated by gigantic bulldozers, which brutally sheared bird songs for urban sprawl. This agonizing loss instilled in me an insatiable longing to bridge the growing divide between human progress and environmental preservation.

My determination only deepened when I worked as an assistant high school teacher and initiated the “Honor Climate Communication” Program. Originally, I was disheartened by students, from diverse backgrounds, who were unwilling to engage with environmental issues outside of their home countries. To foster their connection to local problems, I shared my heartbreaking misfortune of the broad-billed sandpipers in Hui-Cheng River, who were also residents of NYC and were extruded by the mounting water waste. I have again bereft of these companions, as I found out that these birds disappeared from the feeding point I have established at my school greenhouse. Therefore, I spearheaded the class investigation and discovered that improper waste separation was the major malefactor of contamination.
